I can hardly believe the holidays are here. I didn’t even get to the fall decorations in our home! Next week we will be pulling out the Christmas decorations and planning when to get our Christmas tree!
As I am sitting here writing you, my son is sitting next to me playing with his legos and humming Jingle Bells. I am so thankful for such a wonderful and loving son and husband. They bring such joy to my life.
I encourage you as wives, mothers, sisters, and friends, to take time in your hectic schedule to truly enjoy this time of year. Focus on what you are truly thankful for. It’s so easy to get caught up in the chaos of holiday shopping, cooking, and preparations as we strive to make it just perfect for our loved ones.
This year I am being intentional in truly enjoying the holidays and thankful for all that God has done for my family. I challenge you to do the same 🙂
Don’t fret if you don’t make all of those Thanksgiving side dishes and desserts. Let go of your mommy O.C.D. 🙂 Instead, be thankful for the extra time you can spend with your children or spouse! Let your family help you prepare for your big feast. Even if everything doesn’t look picture perfect, you have made wonderful memories with your family to remember. I find that when I am not stressed out by the details, my son seems to enjoy our time together even more. That my friend, is priceless.
So this year I am making more memories and less cookies, unless Malachi or my husband want to bake some goodies with me 🙂 So what are you thankful for this year? I would love to hear your thoughts!
“Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.” Psalm 107:1
